I've been exploring superhero film posters and found that women, homosexual icons and black people take the back seat in them because they take the backseat in the films. They wont put someone who isn't necessarily the main character in the film, near the front of the poster.
It does take the piss how these people tend to be a lot lower down and under the arm of the strong man in charge. For example looking at the Marvel Avengers Assemble poster, look who's lower down than everyone else and under the arm of Iron Man?
Black Widow and Nick Fury.
Nick Fury is the one who recruited them all. Without him, there'd be no Avengers Assemble.
However he is directly in the middle which does tell you he is of some importance.
I also like that they're in a setting from the film and the monster (Hulk) is highest up.
